Overview of Need

A UK-based media business is seeking a Non-Executive Director to join the Board at a pivotal stage of its evolution. Following recent Board-level changes, the company is exploring strategic pathways to scale, accelerate growth, and achieve a potential exit within the next 2–4 years. The successful candidate will bring independent judgement, commercial insight, and constructive challenge, supporting the Board in shaping strategy, enhancing decision-making, and preparing for future transaction opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to defining and refining growth strategy and value creation plans.
  • Provide independent challenge and perspective to Board discussions and decisions.
  • Support evaluation of strategic options, including partnerships, investment, and exit routes.
  • Assist with preparation for potential sale, investment, or liquidity events.
  • Act as a sounding board to the CEO, offering guidance on leadership and scaling challenges.

Candidate Profile – Essential Experience

  • Board-level or senior executive experience.
  • Track record of scaling businesses and/or delivering successful exits.
  • Experience in media, digital, content, or adjacent sectors preferred.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Experience operating in high-growth, transformational, or evolving environments.

Remuneration & Appointment

  • £40,000 per annum.
  • Approx. 2 days per month, with flexibility during periods of increased activity.
  • Initial 12-month appointment, with expected extension of 2–3 years aligned to growth and exit timeline.
